COSMOS is a modular programme for surgical trainees, designed to support the development of consultation skills in surgical practice.
The programme builds on the College’s ICONS course and uses both Safety 1 and Safety 2 approaches, helping trainees consider what can go wrong as well as what works well in consultations. It aims to support safer, more effective conversations with patients without adding unnecessary burden to trainees’ time or workload.
